Aretha Franklin
March 25, 1942 – August 16, 2018
Aretha was an American singer, song writing, actress and pianist.
Her mother was an accomplished piano player and vocalist which may be where Aretha's talent and love of music came from. Sadly, her mother never saw Aretha's success as she died before Aretha was ten.
Aretha started touring when she was just 12 in 1954 and by the end of the 1960s, Aretha Franklin had come to be known as "The Queen of Soul".
