·        Alan Irwin Menken was born on July 22, in New York City. He is a musical theatre and film score composer, as well as a pianist.

·       Menken is best known for his scores for Walt Disney films, like The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Pocahontas, Enchanted and Tangled.

He has won more than 30 prestigious awards for his work.
